Our customized home energy audit begins with an initial consultation and energy intensity evaluation to identify your major energy efficiency concerns.  We take a partnership approach to your Energy Efficiency goals. We are the Energy Efficiency Experts, but you are the expert on your home's quirks and your specific needs. Our mission is to work with you to make it easy and affordable for you to achieve your energy efficiency goals within your timeline and budget.

 

 

The JOEGREEN Energy Audit

After the phone consultation, we will schedule a convenient time to conduct a customized energy audit of your home targeted at resolving your specific energy concerns.  Our building science experts will thoroughly analyze your existing energy consumption. While most energy audits only look at a few elements of your home, we analyze each issue in relation to the whole-home system. Shortly after the audit, you are presented with JOEGREEN’s “ROADMAP TO ENERGY EFFICIENCY”.  We make objective recommendations aligned with your energy efficiency goals while placing an emphasis on their respective return on investment and practicality.  Your customized energy audit will include the appropriate combination of the following components to address your goals:

Insulation analysis (using Infrared camera)Ever wonder what's inside your walls? With our equipment, we can diagnose the
level of insulation in your home and get an accurate assessment without any damage.		   Appliance Efficiency Analysis We look at your current appliances and identify any "energy hogs"
that may be using too much energy.		   Preliminary Site Qualification Are there any code restrictions or local laws
against wind turbines? Does that tree block
the roofline sunlight during the day? We work
with you to determine if you would be a good
candidate for renewable energy.
Air Leakage/Infiltration analysis (using Blower door)Using our equipment, we can safely simulate a strong wind in your home which allows
us to detect, not only how much air is infiltrating your home, but also where it is coming from.		   Lighting System Analysis Lights are a big user of electricity.  We'll take an inventory of your current
lights and show you new ways to reduce your lighting costs.  In addition to
switching from incandescents to CFLs, there are numerous other ways to
save on lighting costs.		   Energy Requirement Analysis Based on your energy needs, we will determine the
appropriate size of a renewable energy system for
your home.
Indoor Air Quality Assessment You can never be too careful about what you are breathing in at home.
We make sure that there are no excessive levels of common toxins
in your home and identify potential areas where toxins could enter the home.		   Water Usage Analysis In many communities, water conservation is a fact of life.
We will help you cut down on water use.
  Rebate/Tax Incentive Processing We are in constant contact with lawmakers to
understand, not only what the current tax and
rebate incentives are, but what they are going
to look like in the near future.
Moisture Control Assessment Moisture control involves making sure that outside elements stay
outside and that the inside elements are dealt with accordingly.
Moisture management is often overlooked but can be one of the
most significant causes of damage to your home.		   Energy Usage Behavior Analysis Do you have someone in the house that leaves the
lights on constantly, that forgets to turn the bathroom
fan off, that leaves the computer on all night? There
are products available to help with this.		   Aesthetic Consideration What will your yard look like after a geothermal
unit has been installed? What would a wind
turbine look like on your roof? We'll help you decide.
Window Efficiency Analysis Do you REALLY need to change those windows out? We will look
at them objectively and, if appropriate, suggest more cost-effective
alternatives.		   Upgrade Efficiency Calculation Does it make sense to change out that old refrigerator
or stove? Using cost-benefit calculations, we make it simple
to answer those questions.
 		  Renewable System Design We craft a plan of implementation for
the renewable energy system in which
you are interested.
Heating/Cooling System Efficiency Analysis We'll let you know where you stand with your heating
and cooling systems and recommend appropriate improvements.		       Payback Calculation One of the most important considerations when
looking at renewable energy is how long it will
take to to recoup your initial investment.
Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detection High CO levels  associated with the appliances in your
home is an often overlooked safety hazard.  We will
determine CO levels in your home and recommend
CO Detectors, if necessary.		        
Furnace/AC/Piping or Duct Analysis Significant savings can be realized from small changes in the
pathways used to heat and cool your home.		        
Heat Load Calculation Advanced calculations performed back in the
office allow us to assess the energy distribution in your home.		        
Energy Loss Distribution Diagram Your audit report will include a diagram showing the sources of
your home's energy loss to aid in identifying the biggest problem areas.		        
Domestic Hot Water (DHW) Check We will assess the safety and efficiency issues of your hot water
heater and identify ways that save you water and money.		        

 

 

 

        JOEGREEN's “ROADMAP TO ENERGY EFFICIENCY”

Using our proprietary software to analyze the data gathered from your energy audit, we will design your “ROADMAP TO ENERGY EFFICIENCY” which includes customized solutions based on your goals of increased energy efficiency, decreased utility bills, and increased home comfort.  Beside each solution, you will find it’s respective cost, energy savings, and payback making it easy to identify the solutions you want to pursue.  After choosing the improvements you’d like to pursue, we will manage the entire implementation process for each project from start to finish.
