Helping to Keep Fenway Green
June 17th 2010
Last week, I represented JOEGREEN in helping the Green Team at Fenway Park. It was so much fun! The Green Team goes around the ball park in between innings and collects recyclables from the fans. And, let me tell you, between the soda bottles, food wrappers, and cardboard trays, there are a whole lot of recyclables. I collected nearly three gigantic trashbags full of just plastics!

As a member of the JOEGREEN team, it was really important for us to join Fenway’s Green Team for a night to show our support for the “green” movement happening across the state. JOEGREENhelps homeowners reduce their energy consumption. We realize that this is only one part of going green and involving ourselves in other green efforts helps the movement grow.
The best part, I have to say, was that many of the fans were very thankful for our efforts and appreciated the fact that we were helping them to recycle. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Sox fans recognized the Green Team in our bright green shirts and literally sought us out to dispose of their recyclables. People understood that what we were doing does have a positive effect in the long run and is worth their time and effort. It’s encouraging to see so many people supporting the Green Team! I can’t wait for JOEGREEN and the Green Team to join forces once again!
